Maaspoort is facing a positive future; as part of the redevelopment of the Maasboulevard in Venlo, the theatre has been expanded and renovated. This means a renewal of the entrance area, enlarging and improving the foyer areas, the catering facilities in the building and the realisation of a new Middenzaal, which was opened in August 2013 and named the Frans Boermanszaal. Maaspoort is now a leading building in Venlo, a cultural icon on the river Meuse. The theatre offers high-quality programming that is accessible to a wide audience and fulfils an important regional function for North Limburg. The presence of culture is a determining factor for the quality of the business climate in Venlo and its surroundings. From that point of view, the role of the theatre is therefore very valuable to both the residents and the business community in the region. To achieve the desired level of ambition, Maaspoort has found sustainable co-operation with various sponsors.
