A story told through melodies and rhythms
Rooting and uprooting is the common thread in the Mühlveld Trio's 'Roots' concert. All in all, 'Roots' is a story told through melodies and rhythms. A journey that begins with the trio's name, a tribute to Richard Mühlfeld, the celebrated clarinetist for whom Brahms composed his trio. Then feeds itself into the essence of an ensemble and, in it, finally connects with the musical traditions of a multicultural world. Including works by Bruch, interspersed with popular songs by Manuel de Falla and ending with Muczynski's 'Fantasy Trio'. In this, 'Roots' are the vital organ that supports and nourishes a being and, in a broader sense, refers to the origin or fundamental connection to something.
