A tale of betrayal, pain, death, forgiveness and love
A tale of betrayal, pain, death, forgiveness and love
Some three hundred years ago, the first performance of the St Matthew Passion took place in Leipzig's Thomaskirche. With lyricist Picander, Bach created a grand masterpiece for two orchestras, two choirs, children's choir and vocal soloists. 'The St Matthew' can be heard every year around Easter in hundreds of sold-out concert halls and packed churches. Be deeply moved by Bach's brilliant rendition of the Passion of Jesus. With beloved arias like 'Erbarme dich' and 'Aus Liebe'.
