Next summer, Venlo's Lage Loswal will be the setting for the fourth time for the city festival On the Waterfront. The event is a collaboration between Poppodium Grenswerk, Maaspoort and Café de Locomotief and is all about music, theatre, food and drinks at a historic spot in Venlo, 't Bat or the Lage Loswal. Entrance to the festival is completely free on all days.
Visitors to Aan de Waterkant thus get the chance to discover emerging and established talent for free. With challenging programming, there is always something for young and old to enjoy: from challenging yourself during activities such as sports, dance and music lessons to listening to bands, artists and DJs together. This year's free festival takes place from 11 to 28 July and is open from Thursday to Sunday.
With tantalising acts like BRUUT!, Hiqpy, MOOON and Rens, Jaïr & Uncle Uncle, visitors this summer will be treated to great talents who have already performed at major festivals across the country. Whereas last year the choice was mainly to book local acts, this year a mix of local and national programme has been sought. A musical voyage of discovery that takes visitors from psychedelic blues rock to super jazz and hip-hop. For further programming, it will collaborate with local initiatives such as TrapLab Academy, Rumah Recordings & Qwartier. Thus, this three-week event is organised both for and by the city.

For Maaspoort and Grenswerk, the Lage Loswal is a very nice place for a collaboration, a stone's throw from both venues. During the event, the venues cooperate with Café De Locomotief as catering partner. In addition, Café Grenswerk will provide a varied finger food offer.
Aan de Waterkant is a collaboration between Poppodium Grenswerk, Maaspoort and Café de Locomotief that is made possible by the Venlo municipality, Kickstart Cultuurfonds and Fonds Podiumkunsten.
