Golden Years | 5 March
Do you also sometimes find yourself lost in thought, thinking of the past? Then the viewing and listening programme 'The Golden Years' is just right for you. In this delightful, nostalgic retrospective, you return to the time when the day began with the radio programme 'Morning gymnastics with Ab Goubitz' - stretch and bend and stretch and bend - and children enjoyed 'Kindergarten Listening' before playing marbles or skipping rope outside. We watched in disbelief the first human being on the moon, Swiebertje and Malle Pietje were our heroes, and after 'De Fabeltjeskrant' we went to bed. Cor Bakker and Danny Malando, among others, will use historic images from the Polygoon newsreel and songs from the 1950s through to the 1980s to bring back fond memories with you. Ah, the old days..
Exchange ; from rabbit to fortune | 9 March
Can you make a fortune out of nothing by trading again and again? Albert Klein Haneveld and Stefan Egberts thought so. They picked up a free rabbit via Marktplaats and started an extraordinary adventure. Against all odds, within three years they exchanged the rabbit for a luxury flat on a ski slope. Using film fragments of their exchange project, Albert and Stefan talk about the special encounters, moral dilemmas and the reactions this project provoked, up to and including death threats. Together with you, they will unravel the secret of their success and come to a remarkable conclusion: anyone can become rich in barter. So bring something to trade to the performance: your first step on the road to a fortune.
Gandini Juggling | 18 March
Seen and booked for you at the world theatre festival in Edinburgh. Gandini Juggling, theatres on fire! There is juggling and there is Gandini Juggling. With 'Smashed' they have been setting theatres and festivals alight in recent years. "They have mastered their techniques to such an extreme that they can throw them around flexibly and almost casually", wrote de Volkskrant. In '4x4: Ephemeral Architectures', the jugglers share the stage with four ballet dancers for the first time. In a dialogue, in which the two pairs find out what they have in common and where they differ, pure patterns and mathematical '4x4' formulas are put on stage. This creates fascinating stage images like the 'ephemeral architecture' of the title. "A show of elegant, wistful beauty", wrote the Guardian after its premiere at the 2015 London International Mime Festival.
Liptease | 24 March
What if today's performers had been on the charts sixty years ago? What would they have sounded like? During this musical theatre show, Liptease pours contemporary hits into a fifties outfit. The sexiest rockabilly band in the Netherlands - known from the TV shows 'Holland Got Talent' and 'De Wereld Draait Door' - consists of six elite musicians, including three seductive ladies who perform today's hits in an Andrews Sisters-like way. The audience decides which songs the revived jukebox plays. Move your appointment, dust off your dancing shoes and take your petticoat out of the closet, because Liptease is coming to town.
