On Monday 25 January, De Maaspoort was twice declared winner of the South region in the elections for best event location of the year 2015 and best conference location of the year 2015.

Of course, we are extremely proud of this! The elections are organised by MEETINGS, the largest MICE trade magazine in the sector. The award ceremony took place during the Meetings Business Event in the WTC in Rotterdam.

In recent years, Venlo has undergone enormous urban development and De Maaspoort has also contributed to this. In 2011, the entire theatre was renovated and in 2013 the new Frans Boermans hall was opened. A year later, the Scheuten terrace was realised, which in 2015 earned the title of Limburg's number one hotspot. Recently, a second restaurant was presented.

With three theatre halls, four foyers, four sub-halls, a magnificent roof terrace and two restaurants, De Maaspoort is very spacious and versatile. Every year, there are about 200 theatre performances on the programme. De Maaspoort also organises and facilitates 400 events. All in all, this attracts over 130,000 visitors per year.
