On 13, 14 and 15 April 2021, the public is welcome in the theatres in Maastricht (Theater aan het Vrijthof), Roermond (Theater de Oranjerie and ECI) and Venlo (De Maaspoort). This is a nationwide test to investigate the logistics of the corona quick tests in the test lanes and theatres. The theatres in Limburg are happy to be able to open their doors for a while
Theatres throughout the Netherlands are taking part in the test. Eligibility for the test is only possible if a quick test location is set up in the neighbourhood. The government sees rapid testing in combination with vaccinations as the fastest strategy to make more things possible in the Netherlands. Guests reserve a ticket as normal through the theatre's website and get tested in advance through the new rapid test lanes. The proof of the negative test, in combination with the theatre ticket, forms the admission ticket.
"We are pleased to be able to participate in a study that can ensure that our sector can slowly reopen after a long period of closure. It is also great fun to be able to welcome real audiences into the theatres again in a very safe way said the directors of the participating theatres. The theatres offer a wide range of artists, from cabaret to opera and from music to theatre. "So there is something for every theatre lover to choose from.
The theatres also strictly adhere to the applicable protocol with all the known measures such as a 1.5-metre distance, mouth masks, disinfecting hands upon entry, walking routes, instructions in the theatre halls. The number of tickets is limited to the 1.5 metre capacity of the theatres.
