Léon Faassen will succeed Fons Tans as chairman of the Supervisory Board of De Maaspoort in Venlo from 8 December next. Faassen works as managing director of L. Faassen Holding BV and has been driven and committed as chairman of Limburgse Land- en Tuinbouwbond (LLTB) since 2014. On 17 November, Faassen's second and final term as chairman of the LLTB will end.

Faassen says of his appointment: "As an entrepreneur and as chairman of LLTB, I know the importance of the region as an interesting place for workers to live and work. The cultural offer is decisive in this. The Maaspoort has occupied an important place in the North and Central Limburg cultural landscape in recent years. It is something to be honoured and treated sparingly." Léon Faassen has been a great lover of theatre for many years and considers it an honour to take up his post as chairman of the Supervisory Board. De Maaspoort sees in him a worthy successor to Fons Tans and looks forward to his arrival and cooperation.
