No techno. Just great music! Like the good old days.
Unfortunately, due to health reasons, the concert of Maxi Jazz cannot take place. We have received the following message from his management:
"Hi all! Max here... Just to let you know, I've been battling one or health issues of late that have been impairing my ability to perform. I thought I might be on top of things by now but sadly not so everything with my name beside it is cancelled. I'll letcha know when I've regained sufficient oomph to get back out there and see you all. Until then stay safe and please pray for Ukraine. One love. Maxi"
Maxi Jazz is a pioneer of dance music, together with Sister Bliss and Rollo, his band mates in Faithless. Together, they have performed on stages worldwide for over twenty years with their timeless anthems and compelling live shows.
It all started for Maxi Jazz when he founded The Soul Food Café System as a DJ in 1984, after falling in love with hip-hop through pirate radio stations. It was meeting Rollo Armstrong and Sister Bliss in a studio that would prove to be the turning point in his life, as they are the two people with whom he founded Faithless. Since then, the group's live shows have grown and grown, their back catalogue has expanded and they are now one of the most recognisable live bands in dance, with shows at Glastonbury, Bestival and many more.
What is less known is that Maxi has been a DJ since 1984 and has a huge vinyl collection from which he has been spinning (and scatting!) for many years. Maxi's musical style is based on a selection of dance music from the last 30 years. He also uses the microphone and old-fashioned turntable techniques to engage and activate his audience.
This studio concert (18+) is a collaboration with Poppodium Grenswerk
